Zombies and Humans on the App Store for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Wednesday, October 24th, 2012

San Diego, California — Pixel Stream LLC has just launched their latest game, Zombies and Humans on the App Store for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. To be available for download on October 24, 2012, Zombies and Humans is a turn-based multiplayer game inspired by the classic board game Reversi (also known as Othello®).

In Zombies and Humans, each player takes turn selecting an empty tile on the game board transforming their opponent’s avatars from Zombies to Humans and vice versa. The game ends when there are no possible moves left and the player with the most avatars remaining wins the game. A hints feature is available to visually assist players on making the best move. Players can also obtain and play using their favorite avatars.

“Growing up, I have seen this board game but never really paid much attention to it. After playing the board game with my friend’s eight year old niece, I was interested in what it could become. I thought we could give reversi a fresh new look.” said Duy Yin, co-founder and lead graphic designer at Pixel Stream, LLC. “Theming it after the idea of Zombies biting humans felt like the right fit.”

Zombies and Humans uses Facebook Connect to allow friends to find and challenge each other. Pixel Stream took advantage of iOS’s Twitter framework to allow players to tweet screenshots of their matches. Other social integration includes the ability to share screenshots on Facebook and Instagram. “I wanted players to be able to easily share game play with a tap of a button,” said Dang Tran, co-founder of Pixel Stream LLC. “We are relying on word of mouth advertising to get our game out there and the best way is to leverage social media.”

“I’m really excited about our new turn-based multiplayer system, which allow friends to play with each other whenever they feel like.” says Tony Liu, co-founder and lead developer of Pixel Stream LLC, “much like Zynga’s Words with Friends and Draw Something.”

Zombies and Humans launched shortly after Apple released the iPhone 5. “With the new launch of the iPhone 5, we are excited to release our game to take advantage of the 4 inch display,” said Dang Tran. With Halloween just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to release Zombies and Humans.

FAST PACED & ACTION PACKED 3-D REAL TIME STRATEGY GAME IN iTUNES’s APP STORE NOW

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Following up with their very first iPhone/iPod Touch game that was featured on the iTunes’s App Store, the developers of Leaf Bound: Mecha Monkey Mayhem have released their very first real-time strategy game for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Armada: Galactic War is a highly engaging game, allowing the player to take control of one of three races and wage an all out war with up to three other players in a vibrantly detailed 3-D environment.
“After the success of our first game, we were confident in our ability to exceed what we thought our potential was,” said Dang Tran, one of the developers of Pixel Stream LLC.  “Instead of taking the logical steps in building another game that’s on the same parallel to Leaf Bound, we wanted to go in a different direction by going all out with creating a game that would be very unique to iTunes’s App Store.”

Armada: Galactic War throws players into intense battles between humans, cyborgs and aliens on many strategically distinct battlefields.  With each battle being very fast-paced and action-packed, a player can go through each battle in a matter of minutes and collect credits at the end that can be used to customize their army with upgrades, keeping the player occupied for hours.

“We understand that most iPhone users want to play games that only last for minutes while on the go.  However, a single session in a traditional real-time strategy games usually takes at least half an hour to finish.  We wanted to create a game that combines the elements of mobile games and the intensity of real-time strategy games,” explains Tony Liu, another Pixel Stream LLC developer.  “It was a challenge, but we definitely did and our team is very confident in Armada [the game] based on the feedback we have received,” in reference to many of the beta testers that became addicted themselves.

Zing Multiplayer Network will be the game’s backbone that allows up to four players to go against each other.  Its network allows for players to go against others of similar skills and experience.  Therefore, each battle will be engaging for everyone, from the novice to the battle-hardened veteran.

Armada: Galactic War is now available in the iTunes’s App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  A high resolution version will also be available for the new iPad, taking advantage of its powerful hardware.
